If you analyze it, the best blush for anyone is a color similar to the natural color of their cheeks when blood rushes in when they are giddy or embarrassed. It would normally be a berry shade because of the way blood looks underneath the skin and veins.

Following that pointer, the berry shade you choose would depend on how fair or how dark you are, but before we even get there, let’s talk about undertones. Undertones are basically the underlying color your skin reflects in a daylight balanced setting. It’s important to note that yellow – olive undertones will compliment a warmer color and pink – blue undertones will compliment a cooler, more blue-based color.

Are you ready to get that natural flush to your cheeks? Let’s break it down for you:

Fair Skintone

For fair skinned ladies, a light pink to peach color like Nars Orgasm or Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Blush in Dollface would be good options for that naturally flushed look.

Medium Skintone

For medium skinned ladies, a deeper pink to apricot is best. A good example would be the MaryKay Mineral Cheek Color is Shy Blush. MAC blush in Peaches would also achieve a natural flush to your cheeks if you are medium skin toned.

Dark Skintone

A darker skin would require a deeper berry shade between fuchsia to brick red. The Sleek blush palette in Pink Sprint would give a dark skin just about all the blush colors it needs.

If all else fails a buildable berry cheek tint would go well with just about any skin tone. A trusted one is the Body Shop Lip and Cheek Stain.
