Kylie Cosmetics started out with liquid lipsticks and now they finally have an eyeshadow palette. I’m a little partial about reviewing the Kyshadow Bronze Palette because personally, I get wary about a product so hyped up it’s not even funny.

However, I was lucky enough to get my hands on this baby especially since it’s sold out almost all the time I get on their website. It arrived in the mail 2 weeks ago and I was definitely able to use it multiple times on myself and on other people.

I previously watched videos about the Kylie Cosmetics Kyshadow Palette and seeing how it got mixed reviews from different people I thought it would be better if I checked out if Kylie Jenner actually had a video about the palette. It only makes sense that the Social Media princess would have a promotional video about it and there is! In the video, I saw how her makeup artist used the Kyshadow palette and it gave me a different perspective about the product.  That got me a little excited too, especially since I saw how the product applied on her.

Well, I’ve used it and have used it on other people, and I’m here to tell you about it.

The question on everyone’s mind after her successful Kylie Lip products, would an eyeshadow palette keep Kylie Cosmetics’ reign of success? Here’s what I think about it.

Pros

  • Compact
  • Universal Colors
  • Buttery and Buildable

Cons

  • No mirror
  • There is a learning curve in using the product
  • Price point

The Kyshadow palette is housed in a 10.5 cm x 10.5 cm flip top cardboard packaging. The thickness of the palette is about 1 cm. It has the Kyshadow logo in front and the names of the shades on the back. The palette seems sturdy enough, there is a certain heaviness to it that feels well-made and luxurious. I love that her team put an effort in labeling the shades!

There are 9 pans of warm eyeshadows in the palette. Each pan contains .05 oz of product and if it even means anything, the products are US-made.

The first release from Kylie Cosmetics is called the Bronze Palette and naturally the palette consists of neutral – brown shades highlighted by a bronze shade. Out of the 9 shades, 7 are matte finish and 2 are satin-finish.

The first time I used the palette, I didn’t really like it because it seemed patchy. The eyeshadows aren’t very pigmented but I noticed it’s buttery, there’s barely any fallout, and it is highly blendable. Which made me take a second look at the product because something that hits the right notes on so many levels can’t be that bad. So I did and I’m glad I gave this palette another shot.

There is a certain learning curve to the Kylie Cosmetics Kyshadow palette but once you get past it, the eyeshadows are a dream to work with. The longevity is also superb. The eyeshadows stayed on my lids for about 8 hours before it started to fade.

Here’s how it looked on me:

Verdict

It is worth the hype! I get why there are mixed reviews on the Kylie Cosmetics Kyshadow Palette and it’s because it takes a little getting used to. But once you know how to use the product, you’ll find that even though the payoff isn’t highly pigmented, it is very buildable – and it did say on the website it has “medium buildable coverage and a velvety smooth texture.” It is buttery – the product is finely milled, it is also quite a nice product to blend. I suggest you go get one for yourself, when it’s available it’ll cost you $42.

The Kyshadow palette is often compared to BH Cosmetics Shaaanxo Palette and I’m lucky enough to have my hands on that palette as well. Check out my review here.
