Homemade Blush So Easy You Can Do It Now

Here’s the thing, in my personal makeup collection, I only just really need one color of blush to use for every day for the whole year, so I think this easy homemade blush recipe is the best and this tutorial from ModaMob is ridiculously easy.

What You’ll Need:

  • Beet Powder
  • Cornstarch or Arrowroot Powder
  • Optional (Lavender)
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Measuring Spoon
  • Container for finished product

Step 1: Light to Dark

In a mixing bowl put about a teaspoon of cornstarch or arrowroot powder, take note it’s easier to go from light to dark than the other way around. Going in with the light colored base allows fewer mistakes because it’s easier to add more colors than to subtract.

Step 2: Color Me Red

Sprinkle about half a teaspoon of beet powder to create color to your blush. Mix the two ingredients together until uniform.

This mix can work on its own but you can also add about 2-3 drops of lavender to give the product a little bit of stickiness to it. It should look like little clumps of powder stuck to each other. Not too wet, not lose either.

Step 3: Color Check

Using a blush brush, check the color swatch on your hand you can then adjust the color to your liking by either adding more beet powder or more cornstarch depending if you want to go darker or lighter. If you’re happy with it, go ahead and transfer it to a container.

1. Cream Blush

We all love a good cream blush. Well,  luckily you can create a cream blush out of any used face moisturizer and blush powder by mixing the two ingredients together. This also gives you the liberty to adjust the consistency by choosing a moisturizer base that you find is best for your skin.

2. Shimmery Blush

By adding a bit of fine loose glitter powder or mica powder to any of your homemade blush you can create a shimmery blush, either in powder form or cream form. You simply need to add it to your recipe and voila! A shimmer blush without all the extra ingredients.

3. Cheek Stain

Another foolproof way to create a homemade blush is by concocting your very own cheek stain. You only need water and a few drops of food coloring, optional vegetable glycerin and voila! Your very own cheek stain that lasts all day!
